Kitesurf and wingfoil school · Kite trips

Welcome to the wind.

We are KiteGuru: a kitesurfing and wingfoiling school. We teach complete beginners and we coach advanced riders. And whenever you want, we take you on a kite trip to wherever the season is best. Every instructor is IKO certified.

KiteGuru is a kitesurfing and wingfoiling school with three of its own bases —Chilean Patagonia (Puerto Varas, Lake Llanquihue), the Canary Islands (Fuerteventura) and Ceará (Guriú, Brazil)— whose seasons hand over to each other through the year. We teach from scratch and we run 8 kite trips: 4 to 10 day trips with lessons or coaching, full gear, accommodation, daily transfers to whichever spot is working and a photographer along for the ride. Always a maximum of 2 students per instructor. Bookings are arranged over WhatsApp, in English or Spanish.

Where we are

Three bases, one season after another

The wind never stops everywhere at once. When Patagonia goes quiet, Ceará is at its best; when Brazil winds down, the Canaries pick up.

The method

How we teach

Two students per instructor, never more. It is the single thing that decides whether you spend a week riding or a week watching someone else ride, and it is the first thing most schools quietly cut.

You wear a radio helmet from the first session, so your instructor talks to you while you are out on the water instead of waving from the beach. Every evening we go through the day's footage together. On trips you get a written level assessment on day two and an exit report at the end, so you know exactly what changed.

All our instructors are certified by the IKO, the International Kiteboarding Organization, and we teach to its method and safety standards. The student Kiteboarder Card is issued by IKO affiliated centers only — ask us on WhatsApp before you book and we will tell you exactly what you leave with.

Preguntas frecuentes

What everyone asks before starting

What is a kite trip?

A trip of 4 to 10 days built around the wind. Lessons or coaching with a maximum of two students per instructor, full kit, accommodation, daily transfers to whichever spot is working best that day, and a photographer riding with the group. You do not plan anything and you do not rent anything: you show up and ride.

Do I need any experience?

For most trips, no. Brazil, Puclaro, the Canaries and Tarifa all run a beginner lane alongside the advanced one, and the New Year trip on Lake Llanquihue is built for people who have never sailed anything. Two trips do ask for real experience: Cuesta del Viento, because 20 to 35 knots is no place for a first lesson, and the Red Sea kitesafari, where you need to be self-sufficient on the water.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Lessons, briefings and WhatsApp all work in English or Spanish. Just write to us in whichever you prefer and we will answer in the same one.

Is gear included?

On every trip except Cuesta del Viento and Tagua Tagua, where you bring your own — in both cases because the conditions call for kit you already know. Everywhere else kites, board, harness and radio helmet are included, so you do not have to check gear onto a plane or pay rental on top.

How do I book?

Over WhatsApp. We confirm the exact price in writing before you pay anything, and you talk directly to the instructor who will be in the water with you — not to a call centre. Asking costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
